The Breakfast Club: John Bender/Brian Johnson

Higher Education by Resonant (NC-17, 14,360 words) !
Summary: John Bender gets a life.
Review: I love this fic so. much! If you're thinking The Breakfast Club fic couldn't possibly be good, you're so wrong. It's, like, one of my top-3 fics ever? Ok, so I say that about some 5-10 fics, but that doesn't make it less true! Do yourself a favour: read it. Brian/Bender, *squee*!!

CSI: Gil Grissom/Nick Stokes

Canada by Emily Brunson/janissa11 (NC-17, 24,359 words, the kinder, gentler version)

Review: Roadtrip and angst and hurt/comfort and action!
Alternative version: Hell (NC-17, 59,758 words, The meaner, nastier version of Canada).
Silk, Silk, Silk by Anne Higgins ([R?], 22,467 words)

Review: Amnesia fic. Good characterizations.

CSI: Gil Grissom/Sara Sidle

Remember Lake Tahoe by Danie/LSI (NC-17, ca. 94,000 words, [.pdf-file])
Summary: When Catherine decided to play cupid, Grissom and Sara reluctantly played along. Stuck together 500 miles from home it's not as if they could resist the temptation.
Review: Slasher's first NC-17 het, eek. Mine, anyways. It was good and long and angsty and even hot.
The Wall by theohara (NC-17, 18,185 words, also Gil/Cath) !
Summary: Grissom likes Pink Floyd. Wonder why? A series of Grissom-centric vignettes through time.
Review: I highly recommend this. Just try the first two vignettes - if by the beginning of the third you are not caught, you may go your merry way. But it's by far the best fic I have read in CSI, slash included.

House: House/Wilson + House~Chase

The Fine and Subtle Art of Cardiology by Pru/rageprufrock (R, 8238 words, House/Wilson)
Summary: "Oh, God," House whines. "Are you really going to make me ask you?"
Review: I'm not sure I'm meant for House slash, but I liked this.
Maui Gold by nutmeg4077 (PG-13, 6319 words, House/Wilson)
Summary: Wilson takes House home for dinner with the parents.
Review: Good characterisations and narration.
Six Ways of Looking at Chase by supacat ([PG], 1092 words, House~Chase [gen or pre-slash])
Quote: Chase was a complete package reliably advertised by his smile. House found this fascinating and implausible.
Review: Great characterisations.

Wilby Wonderful: Buddy/Duck

A Home on the Ocean Wave by Dayse (NC-17, 1,402 words)
Summary: Duck could stay here forever, with Buddy and his pick-up truck, and the waves crashing onto Wilby's shore outside.
Review: I love Wilby Wonderful, but if I'm going to read a CKR character having sex with someone, it has to be a PG character. So Buddy/Duck it is. It's short, but well-written, and although not a PWP, the sex is guh, hot.

Original Slash

Through Different Eyes by Drake Hunter ([PG], ca. 56,000 words, pre-slash) !
Quote: Sometimes I wonder if it all was just a dream, but reality has a way of letting me know, even ten years later, that what happened then carries forward.
Review: It's not slash so much as pre-slash, and it's not even really pre-slash, either. Add that it's sort of sci-fi and - come back! This is really good; I love the slow, introspective narration. And the characters and their relationship. And I may have sniffled - or bawled - at some point.
